insights into a rubric of Deliberate Leadership, an amalgam of the most effective adaptive leadership strategies used in the business and social sectors that empowers leaders to deal effectively and thoughtfully with complexity both in social finance and technology to benefit the world’s most vulnerable. The seven core characteristics (the 7Cs) of Deliberate Leaders are those that institutions, and individuals in those institutions, must consistently display to demonstrate flexibility and maximize learning these include: courage, collaboration, community, candor, creativity, capital, and compassion. Recognizing that social investment is not one sided where one side gives, and one side receives, but instead is based on a model of partnership, where community members are partners in solving systemic wicked challenges, we introduce Deliberate Leadership as a frame for social finance and impact investing and achieving sustainable development goals.
