Neurological and psychiatric risk trajectories after SARS-CoV-2 infection: an analysis of 2-year retrospective cohort studies including 1 284 437 patients (2022)

This paper shows an increased risk of neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disease following COVID diagnosis.

Expresssed proportionally to basline risk, the sequence is: myoneural/muscular > dementia > cognitive deficit > psychotic disorder > (Guillain-Barre and epilepsy, both significant but minor).

Expressed in absolute terms the sequence is: cognitive deficit >>> (less by an order of magnitude) > dementia > myoneural/muscular.
